Dems Push To Have Obama Added To Mount Rushmore!

A poll of 800 people from Rasmussen Reports asked whether there should be any changes to the iconic monument of Mount Rushmore, which features the faces of four US presidents carved into the side of a mountain in South Dakota.

The popular monument, which cost a million dollars to create and dislodged 450 tons of rock, currently features George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Teddy Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln. The purpose of the poll was to see if there was much interest in adding a fifth figure to the famous quartet.

Overall, the most popular suggestion for who should be added to the monument was Franklin Roosevelt. The poll found that 13 percent of respondents would like to have him added, while 12 percent were in favor of adding Barack Obama. Next in terms of popularity were John F. Kennedy at 10 percent and Ronald Reagan at 9 percent.

Unsurprisingly, political party had some influence over the responses. Among Democrats, Barack Obama was the most popular suggestion for an addition at 21 percent. Among Republicans, it was Ronald Reagan, who generated 16 percent of the Republican vote. Despite these differences, however, both parties were in general agreement about one thing.

By far the most popular response at 51 percent of the overall vote was to just leave the monument the way it is. It would appear that George, Thomas, Teddy and Honest Abe will not be welcoming a fifth president to their mountain any time soon.
